We had an 11.30am appointment at the SABC this morning with Chris Marquard. It was so great to finally meet him after all the phone calls and emails. He is really friendly and interesting but clearly has a very difficult situation on his hands. The time-slot he manages called "Special Assignment" comes under the news department and they currently have no head of news and are being investigated for a story they did on South African prisons. Chris is still unable to commission any new programs and doesn’t know how long the embargo will go for.
