Africa in November 2003 that the progress he and his mother Laura
made in healing the emotional wounds between them could have
been done without film.
But he acknowledges that the healing was only possible
with a mediator: "It needed a mediator, somebody like yourself
[Cathy], who is able
to
be
compassionate
to both sides and understand both sides of the story and then
it could have happened as well.
"The fact that it’s been
done through film is, to me, just another way of doing things.
But the film now, because it’s hard documented material,
can now be taken to other families and internationally and shown,
so it’s not just our family that’s healed now, it
can now work for other people – 'Look what we did'.
And if we, us bunch of clowns can do this, then anyone can do
it." |
